I had to post these...

...my youngest sister and her husband and baby were here to visit from LA California area over Mother's Day. We had a lot of fun with them and miss them terribly.
While they were here they went around to visit the relatives and one of the first stops was at our Dad's house. baby Elsa hadn't met Grandpa Floyd yet. Here are some pictures from their visit.

Seth has a Room Mate

His name is Jarran. He is a teenager who had a malignant brain tumor. The tumor has been removed, but he has to undergo Chemo treatments every 4 weeks. Jarran will be here until Thursday. His Chemo Treatments are for 10 hours today and 10 hours again tomorrow. Seth helped him hook up his XBox. They may play a game together later on. It sure makes a person thankful for what we have, how we feel and who we are. Please pray for Jarran that the treatments will now harm him, but help him and that God will heal him soon and that NO more treatments will be necessary. Jarrans mom looks weary, but strong and determined. I'm sure she could use some prayer too. Until later on then...Vickie

Good Morning

Hi, I've been up for an hour and no action so far. Usually the drs. are in here by 6:30. I guess it is different when you don't have surgery. The night was quiet. Although I didn't sleep.
Spoke too soon, the 2nd year resident was just in. I told him I want answers not just a medication thrown at him to take care of symptoms. I want to know what is causing the symptoms. Dr. Gary said they are going to have a Child Psychologist come in and talk to Seth about stress issues, (although he seems better now).
Seth is awake, not nauseated, and hungry. Let's see if he can eat and not get sick, if so then I would guess that the Steroids are doing something.
The new nurse is here now...gotta go. Vic

Thank God for the cot!

I requested a cot and here it comes. I refused to sleep in the chair this go around. Seth seems to be more settled and accepting that he has to be here. It got a little ugly earlier today. Too many memories. They flood in when you have everything surrounding you like we are. Being in the same room is freaking both of us out.
The doctors have been in several times and have done some blood draws and have started some of the tests. The steroids seem to be helping already.I want him on and off them as soon as possible. They will have to start the weaning process as soon they can. You can't just stop taking these things.
I am hoping to see some of our favorite nurses tomorrow maybe. Remember Seth's most fav nurse, Mary Ann. We will ask about her in the AM. Well good night all. Love ya, Vic

Here we go again...

...we (Seth) was admitted to the UICH this morning for Intervenious Steriod Treatments. He has been having issues with the reconstructed area after his abdominal surgery that was preformed last year in January and April. We are in the same room he was in after the last surgery April 28, 2008. Bad memories!!!!! Bad moods!!!! Anyway, pray our time here is short and that Seth will NEVER again in his lifetime ever have to have Steroids of any kind. It is very dangerous. Please pray the nurses "shape up". I don't tolerate any issues when it comes to my children. 3 BAD attempts at getting the IV started, blood all over, left the turnecut on...etc. No excuses work. They even forgot about us foir over an hour. It took 4 hours just to get the IV started. Enough is enough! I am asking God for perfection in the preformance of all the medical professionals here, for a quick and acurate diagnosis, and at TOTAL and PERMANENT healing for Seth. I am not going to ask god for patience, we all know what that would mean, but I ask for a JOY and a PEACE that is unexplainable. Please comment if you read this blog. It is one of the only ways we can communicate while being here in the hospital. If you don't know how to post, you can call Jeff or Laura and ask them how. Love ya, Vic
