You know i keep showing up here asking for prayer...

..today is no exception. Last Monday I went in for my annual routine mamogram, exactly as I have done for 20 years now. I had my baseline done at 30. On Thursday I received a call to come in for further tests. They found a spot that hadn't been there last year. On Saturday morning I went in for a spot compression and a sonogram. They have recommended further testing....so today I go in at 1:10 for a biopsy. In my spirit I feel ok. I know that God has this thing. IF there is something there then I praise God for revealing it and we simply will get rid of IT.
One of my concerns today is that I am VERY allergic to all 'Caines, ie. Lidocaine, Novocaine etc. All local anesthetic. So if they use one it could be serious,( I cardiac arrest) and if thy don't it's gonna HURT. So pray about that please. I'll let you know how things come out.

Jeff celebrated his 30 year anniversary with Caterpillar on Monday. Jeff's hire in date was October 23, 1978. We (he & I) just can't believe it has been 30 years already. Noah and I had the priveledge of attending and helping him celebrate with bosses and fellow workers (past and present). Below: Jeff had just been pinned with a nice 30 yr. gold pin and congratulated by his boss, Blake.

Another beautiful day on horseback

Dianne, Marsha and I on our horses. All the horses were great today. We had a lot of fun! Our guide was great. We are trying to plan another ride for a Friday. It will have to be one of the Fridays left in October because the Trail ride stop until next spring. Fridays at Rocking C are called Ladies Day. If there are any of you gal out there that want to ride with us, give me a call sometime early this week. Happy Trails, Vickie

I finally got word from Laura in Russia. See a copy of her email to me this morning. Thanks sooooo Much for your prayers.

Well, other than being stranded in Chicago and the hives, the trip has gone very well. The flight from Chicago to Frankfurt was wonderful. Sat next to a guy on a ministry trip (to do with marriage) and we talked the entire way so it flew by. I'm sure that Vickie prayed specifically for that! No problems from Frankfurt to Moscow either.

My back feels fine, too, and the hives are much, much better.

Now, about our baby...she is beautiful. Really beautiful. She seems much more so this time than last. Maybe because she is ours...She fell asleep promptly at the start of our visit but I didn't hold it against her. I just held her as she slept. She is so precious. It was a very happy day. She wasn't so happy, however. She was quite cranky when she woke up. She just wanted to sleep and I think that she was getting sick. She was really sweaty and they had her wrapped in about 14 layers of clothes...yuck. I took some off her to make her more comfortable and I didn't even ask her caretaker. It was cute...she fell asleep holding a cookie and had it gripped with her fist in the air. They said that she likes sweets...that's my girl! We played ball together and she loved the matchbox car, of course. She let me snuggle her but I got no smiles or laughs but the caretaker assured me that she does. She described Dasha as "very emotional." I think she means moody. She gave some scowls and some pouts but everyone just laughed because it is so cute. She did get upset at the end, though, and wanted to sit by herself then she started rocking. It was awful. That is what children in orphanages do to comfort themselves because there is no one that does it for them...She let me pick her up and console her...She will be so happy when she can come home. Oh, they changed her to a different group of kids and caretakers 3 days ago. She is rattled by that, too. I got lots of pictures and keep looking at them over and over again. Can't wait to share them when I get home. I signed the documents agreeing to adopt her today so now nobody else can have her!

Thank you all for praying!! It has made all the difference in the world. Everything is going much more smoothly this trip. I fly home on the 12th now because of the delay in Chicago.

Love to you all. Will send update when and if I can.

I am asking for prayer

Please everyone that is reading this blog right now, PRAY. I came to you in August and asked for prayer for my youngest sister, Laura and her husband Greg as they travelled to Russia to meet there new daughter. They met her and now Laura has to make another trip to Russia alone. She left yesterday from CA. and made it only as far as Chicago last night. She missed her connecting flight to Moscow because her plane arrived after the flight had already taken off. It was imparative she be at the orphange this morning when the office opened and she is still in Chicago!! The only flight out today is at 2:30 PM. She will be there (Moscow) tomorrow at noon, 24 hours after her appointment was to have taken place. PLEASE pray that God will intervene and that nothing will happen to the adoption of our new baby girl. This baby will be Laura and Greg's first child after 9t years of marriage. We desparately need for everything to go through on this adoption. Pray that God will make a way, and for everything to be expedited after Laura arrives, pray that NOTHING will hinder or stop, or prolong the procedures. I know you understand. I thank you now for praying, and I ask that you will continue to pray until Laura is home safely, (check the blog for updates), and that the family is together, forever, as of next month. I love you. Vickie
